Introduction to Dialectical Behaviour Therapy- August 2023 - Online training
Friday 4th and Saturday 5th August 2023
Online registrations closed on 1 August 2023 for this training.
This two-day workshop is an introduction to Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) intended for mental health professionals who wish to acquaint themselves with the treatment or who are considering further training in DBT. The training introduces change-based technology (behaviour therapy) with acceptance-based principles (validation), along with dialectical strategies that provide the balance of acceptance and change. It also highlights the frame of DBT and defines the modes and functions of comprehensive DBT. We introduce a core selection of skills from the 2015 Skills Training Manual (2nd Ed.). Methods of instruction include lecture, demonstration, and practice exercises to teach the principles and strategies of DBT.
This training has been developed by Behavioral Tech, the US-based training organization established by Dr Linehan to disseminate high fidelity DBT training.
To maximise access we are offering this training via Zoom. We have experience in delivering DBT trainings and therapy sessions remotely, and are committed to making this an engaging, rich, and interactive experience. We hope you’ll join us, and/or forward the information to colleagues who’ve wanted to attend a DBT skills training but couldn’t, because the travel and accommodation costs have been too prohibitive.
Please note we will not record the training as it is an interactive web-based training (not a webinar) which may include health-related information. Participants must agree to the ‘no recording’ policy.
